The Word Tree is a text-based analysis tool that allows you to search for and identify themes around the language people are using. The tool will analyze the words contained in the entries by which you are currently filtering.
Use the Word Tree tab on the Explore page to help you analyze your participants' responses.
Note: The Word Tree only works with Latin-alphabet languages.
The Word Tree is made up of the following views and segments:
1. Filters: The "Everything" and "Add filter" drop-down menus let you filter responses by a variety of search parameters.
2. Search: Allows you to enter a specific word or phrase to use as the displayed root word in the Word Tree.
3. Word Cloud: Allows you to pick the root word from the words that appear the most often among the responses you are currently exploring. If you click a word, it will appear as the root word in the Word Tree.
4. Word Tree: Displays branches to indicate how the word is used contextually. To explore a branch, select the word at the base of that branch. If you would like to go back, click again on the root word.
4. Response Tiles: Displays snapshots of responses that include the root word you are exploring. If you click into a response tile, you will see the applicable text highlighted.
