The Explore page allows you to view data submitted by participants. Once your project is launched, data will arrive in real time as it is submitted by participants.
1: Explore Overview
Researchers can view the data by clicking "Explore" in the navigation menu on the left side of the page.
1. View: There are multiple ways to view your data. Select from the following tabs:
- Responses: The default view containing all responses submitted by participants.
- Images: Images uploaded to activities by participants. Learn more about Viewing and Downloading Images.
- Videos: Videos uploaded to activities by participants. Learn more about Viewing and Downloading Videos.
- Audios: Audios uploaded to activities by participants. Learn more about Viewing and Downloading Audio Files.
- Word Tree: Text-based analysis tool that displays the words most commonly used in responses submitted by participants. Learn more about Text Analysis with the "Word Tree".
- Concept Canvas: The data for all Concept Canvas activities included within the project. Learn more about Using the Concept Canvas.
- Grids: Data tables for all closed-ended questions included within the project. Learn more about Tallies to Closed-Ended Questions (Grids).
- Discussion: The data for all Discussion activities included within the project. Learn more: Discussion: Analysis and Reporting.
2. Filtering: Regardless of the tab you are viewing, the drop-down filters allow you filter the data by a variety of search parameters. You can add up to three filters by using the "Add filter" button. Up to three of the following filters can be applied at the same time:
- What’s New: items you have not yet reviewed
- Drafts: items that participants have not submitted
-
Activity: filters by activity
- Question: filters by Questions within the activity
- Participant: sorts by participants
- Segment: sorts by segment
- Tagged With: filters based on tags added by the researcher
- Containing text: filters by participant responses that include the text you search for
- With Profile Field: filters by participant profile data
- With probes: shows responses where a researcher requested feedback when making a comment
- With answered probes: shows responses where a researcher requested feedback when making a comment and the participant has responded
- With unanswered probes: shows responses where a researcher requested feedback when making a comment and the participant has not responded
- With Observer comments: shows activities where observers have made comments to the research team
3. Publishing Reports: You can publish reports that reflect the filters you currently have active. Once you’ve published a report you can download it by clicking Findings in the navigation menu. There are different publishing options:
Text by Activity: Word document where responses are listed by Activity, then by Participant, then Question.
Text by Question: Word document where responses are listed by Activity, then Question, then Participant.
CSV: CSV file export
Excel: Excel file export, where each activity is listed on its own sheet
-
Excel with Images: The most detailed report (includes participant profile information). Excel file export, where each activity is listed on its own sheet, and includes thumbnails of participant-uploaded images.
Note: To get a report of full size images, see Viewing and Downloading Images.
4. Response Tiles: In the Responses tab, participant entries are represented by tiles on the left hand side of the screen. Clicking a tile reveals the full response on the right portion of the screen. The full response is located on the right side of the screen, where you can find participant details such as: the activity title, activity type, screen/segment names, when the response was submitted, and if it was submitted on a mobile device or computer.
5. Tagging: At the top of the participant's entry you can create tags that you are able to sort by using the "tagged with" filter.
Note: You can view participant profiles by clicking a participant's profile photo.
